In the workshop, the rocks are hand cut with a diamond tipped saw, shaped with grinding wheels and finally polished with wet diamond abrasive belts.
During these steps, the color and stucture patterns in the rocks emerge, suggesting ideas for any embellishment to the metal frame. These embellishments usually consist of soldered shapes, stamping, grinding and antiquing that echoes the content of the rock.
The ultimate goal is to merge artistically the metal and stone into a cohesive work of art that is both functional and beautiful.
